The origin of the Salon du Végétal
Producers of the Union Horticole Angevine decided to organise an exhibition in the largest horticultural region of France in 1980. The idea came into being in October 1981, under the name of "Salon Anjou Vert". The Angers town hall finally proposed a more rational site for the event in 1985 at the new Parc Expo. The B.H.R. orchestrated the exhibition, especially Eric HENRY, the director at this time. It was inaugurated in October 1985 under the name of Salon du Végétal. |

A maintained aim
Since 1985, the aim of the Salon has not changed, namely, the marketing of ornamental plants, retailing, services and accessories relating to their sale. We have had a simple and clear ambition right from the start. We would like the Salon du Végétal to become the preferred, almost obligatory, meeting ground for all players in the plant business. Maintaining this clear aim has insured the regular increase of the number of exhibitors. | Always renewing
While keeping those aims, the Salon du Végétal has also always had the ambition to bring in new ideas for the market. A good proof of this are the 4 awaited animations of the Salon du Végétal: Innovert® , Bouquets d'Aujourd'hui® , Espace Inspiration®, Tendances Fleurs Coupées.
