Project "VITAL"
Designers:
Johanna Robin - Marine Lacouture
Trophy award: A new design-based look at plants
This original flowerpot holder recreates the rhythm and movement of human breathing (inhalation and exhalation). VITAL reminds us that a plant, besides its decorative aspect, is a living being in its own right. It expels the oxygen that humans need and plays a part in purifying the air.
A silent motor makes a cam rotate, which makes the sides move in a regular motion. Using a programmer connected to the device, breathing stops when the plantís water reserve is empty. The aim is to encourage the user to take a responsible attitude towards the plant. VITAL delivers a clear message: the plant is necessary for our wellbeing, letís preserve it. As well as conveying a powerful message, the breathing movements make this pot an invitation to relaxation.
VITAL is perfectly suited to depolluting plants, with a diameter of 14 cm.
All concepts and images are protected by the Lycée Jean Monnet.
