Key figures of the Salon du Végétal 2010
The 25th Salon du Végétal, which took place in Angers from 16 to 18 February 2010, has kept all its promises!
The French ornamental plant show has maintained its role as a major meeting-place for everyone involved in the industry - growers, distributors, local authorities and landscape gardeners, despite a slight drop in visitor numbers of 8%.
With 14,674 trade visitors and 619 exhibitors, we observed an increase this year in the number of florists, horticulturalists, nurserymen, wholesalers, DIY store chains and landscape architects. Other sectors, such as local authorities, research and education, transport and garden centres, were present in fewer numbers.
Exhibitors said they were satisfied overall with the quality of business contacts that the show generated. Results are therefore fairly positive despite a relatively unfavourable economic situation.
For February 2011, we have no doubt that the show's attractiveness and, in particular, the dynamism of its exhibitors, will once again create a major event for the industry.
